First Aid Workshop

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid


This Course focuses on providing Participants with a set of robust industry supported standards and learning resources‚ designed for people who are employed as first-aiders and those with a duty of care to provide first aid to others.  This includes workers with duty of care for vulnerable clients, child care educators, teachers, emergency services personnel, workers in hazardous environments and nominated workplace first-aiders. 

Target Audience:

There are no pre-requisite qualification requirements for this course‚ so it is perfect for you if you have never completed any first aid training before. This course is suitable for workplace first-aiders looking to update their first aid training and includes training in Automated External Defibrillation (AED).

Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines require that nominated first-aiders update their qualification every 3 years.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Responding to and assessing an emergency situation
  • Applying and performing appropriate first aid procedures
  • Communicating details of the incident to emergency services and reporting details according to your workplace’s procedures
  • Post-incident evaluation and debriefing

Learning Methods:

This is a blended-learning Course. The course should take you approximately 12 hours to complete‚ comprised of:
  • 5 hours of Online, self-paced theory study including your written assessments tasks, plus
  • Participation in an 7-hour hands-on Workshop, for your practical training and demonstration assessment tasks
